Saving Money

Process

You have to pay tax. Those are the rules. But you don't necessarily have to pay as much as you do…

  • Avoiding tax is perfectly legal and there are many ways to do it.
  • Are you making the most of the allowances you're entitled to?
  • Are you getting relief on everything you can?
  • Are you, in short, paying as little tax as possible?

Why not call on an expert to find out?

James McBrearty has over two decades experience in providing tax advice, and may be able to find ways of saving you some real money (which you can make much better use of than the government can!)

As well as preparing your tax return, accounts and computations we can deal directly with HMRC for you, so that you don't have all the hassle and worry. And if you have any additional requirements we can provide a specialised service to fit your exact needs.

Award Winning Software

We prepare your return using Digita Taxability Pro software, from Thomson Reuters...

Digita Personal Tax was the winner of the prestigious Taxation Best Tax Software Award in 2003, 2006 and 2007. Is accredited by the ICAEW, and dominated the rankings in the January 2007 ICAEW Software User Survey, coming first or second in every category with zero critical errors and the 'best technical support in the industry'.

In July 2009 Digita personal tax software was also adopted by one of the 'Big 4' accountancy firms in the UK.

We always file online, where possible, as this speeds up repayments, as well as minimising any errors that can occur when returns are manually entered on HMRC's systems.

The Process

  • We start with an initial meeting (in person, or over the phone) to establish your requirements, and to discuss how best to assist you in meeting compliance targets and minimising tax liabilities. We find that spending a little time at this initial stage makes the process as straightforward and easy to understand as possible.
  • This is followed by a close association during the preparation of your accounts and your return to make sure that you're claiming all the possible allowances you're entitled to, and that you fully understand all the details they're finalised.
  • After the return has been submitted, we deal with its agreement with HMRC and, subsequently, with any queries that you may have over the following months in preparation for your next year's submission.
