Many clients operate from mobile offices, using their cell phones to make calls rather than a landline.
Whilst mobile phone contracts include a monthly allowance for calls, unfortunately many of these contracts do not allow calls to 08 numbers as part of the package – so these become chargeable calls.
We have operated an 0845 number for some time, to ensure that clients calling us were only charged a local rate call – however with the growth in numbers of people running their businesses from a mobile we have recently introduced an 03 number as well.
03 numbers are charged as a normal call from a mobile and are included within the free minutes of the contract, so this is something that you may want to investigate yourself with the shift towards mobile clients.
